- See below
What you need:
Hot dog buns
Green cucumber or sliced pickles
Peanut butter/mayonaise: optional
Round cookie cutter
What you do:
Repeat the following fun rhyme with children before making this snack:
Red on top says STOP.
Green below says GO.
Yellow says WAIT even if you're late!
Hot Dog Bun Traffic Light Snack
Provide each child with half of a hot dog bun, a pepperoni circle, a yellow cheese circle (use round cookie cutter), and a green cucumber or pickle circle. Let them spread on peanut butter or mayonnaise if desired. Have children create “traffic lights” on their hot dog bun.
Graham Crackers Traffic Light Snack
Break graham cracker into four pieces and cover with peanut butter. Let children place red, yellow, and green M&Ms in the correct order on the crackers to make traffic lights.
Firefighters need to stay healthy and strong to be able to carry the heavy fire equipments. Let children join you in a firefighter's workout. Do exercises like jumping jacks, leg lifts, running in place, and carrying buckets full of water from one place to another, etc.
Fire Engine Snack
To make a fire engine snack, break off one corner of a graham cracker. Frost the cracker with red icing. Use the broken off piece for the windshield, mini black sandwich cookies for wheels, and pretzel sticks for a ladder.
